He later finds out that his wife Delilah has betrayed him and that she has been bribed by the Israelites to find out the secret of his strength. She later reveals to them how Samson's power is tied to his hair. His power is mainly derived from his long hair, which God gave to him so he can be an effective warrior for Him. If Delilah were to cut the hair off, Samson will become weak and vulnerable, giving Israel an upper hand in their war against the Philistines. After this betrayal, he is captured by the Israelites. The rest of his story will either end with him telling the secret of his strength to the Philistines who then cut off all his hair or Samson dying in a heroic last stand against an army that wants to take advantage of his weakness. The ending, however, does not change anything for Delilah as she is still portrayed as an evil woman who was bribed by the Israelite men. The ending also portrays her as manipulative, because she willingly betrayed her own husband for money which shows that money can make people do bad things. Samson and Delilah is a story of a strong woman who was betrayed by her own husband. Samson displays a sense of loyalty to his wife, but also towards God when he wants to fight the Philistines. The moment when she cuts off all his hair, however, proves that she is not loyal to her husband anymore.
